About Us
Through David A. Siegel's vision, persistence, and resourcefulness, Central Florida Investments, Inc. (CFI) has become one of the largest privately-held corporations in the Central Florida area with over $400 million in annual revenues. Mr. Siegel founded our company in 1970 through a real estate development firm, starting from a small office in the family garage. To date, our company employs over 5,000 people and has expanded from Central Florida to Miami and Daytona Beach, Florida; Park City, Utah; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and Las Vegas, Nevada. However, Mr. Siegel's most prosperous achievements are clearly in the timeshare industry.
Over the last decade, the net sales at Westgate Resorts has grown at an average of 20% annually, exceeding the industry average. The U.S. is the leader in vacation ownership with over 1,200 resorts, which represents over two million owners. Westgate resorts has grown into one of the largest timeshare companies in the world.

CFI publishes its first issue of I Love Orlando magazine. Westgate Towers opens, just minutes from Walt Disney World® Resort.
Westgate Daytona Beach opens within walking distance of the world famous Daytona Beach pier.
U.S. timeshare sales reach $2.72 billion. There are 5,000 resorts worldwide and global sales are estimated at close to $6 billion. Westgate Resorts/Central Florida Investments (CFI) is one of the largest privately held corporations in Central Florida with over $300 million in sales.
Westgate Resorts opens a 210,000-square-foot call center in Ocoee, Florida. The call center is one of the most technologically advanced centers of its kind.
Westgate Town Center opens, starting a 3000-unit expansion of Westgate Vacation Villas.
Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort at Gatlinburg opens, located at the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Westgate Park City - Park City, Utah, opens in time for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
With the addition of Westgate Flamingo Bay at Las Vegas, Westgate now includes eight resorts, with ownership at 180,000 and growing.
The Westgate Resorts Foundation is formed as a charitable organization to serve the needs of the community in which Westgate does business. In addition to raising contributions for various causes, the Foundation also supports company employees in need. In 2002, Westgate Resorts acquired the Sandy Lakes Towers and Blue Tree Resort in Orlando, FL, River Ranch and Grenelefe Golf & Tennis Resort in Polk County, FL, and the Coral Sands in Miami Beach, FL.
